PRAYER IS AFRICAN THING

Prayer has always been an African thing for me… Usually, I wonder if the Americans or Europeans really pray as things we pray for here are readily available over there.

Prayer has never been a sexy or fancy activity that I like to engage myself in as I always get a way to convince myself that it’s meant for people that cannot use their brain (The Weak)
My perception of prayer is that it is only needed in situations having exhausted your human power…
Three Sundays ago, my church decided to treat a topic called new perspective… One of the message struck me and I decided to make enquiries by opening my bible.
The First Page I read was Ephesian 6:13, the words sank really deep and I wanted to know more… I pressed further by searching for some prayer bible chapters online…
Alas! My usual “prayer is African thing” has vanished as I now see prayer as a food to my soul…
Initially, when people spoke about praying for hours,  I consider them hypocrite trying to show off but then I realised the possibility of that through the Holy Spirit…
I also realised that you must have a burden in your heart irrespective of the prayer points raised in your church because you are the church and Christ might decide to walk through you when he pleases.
